Mysterious beings are growing out of the floor. Their backs are crooked, they have long tentacles and large heads. They wiggle and crawl, spin and fall. Are they visiting from another planet?
The Lava Forest (Lavaskogen) is a kinaesthetic performance where three dancers move in a large pile of colorful textiles. The audience is seated close by on four sides, surrounding the stage. The dancers take shape as various creatures and move both their own body as well as the textile scenography in ways that create associations to different landscapes and environments.
In The Lava Forest, the focus is to give the children a kinaesthetic and sensorial experience, which can stimulate them to explore movement and dance further. The performances’ thematic backdrop is the climate challenges of our time and how they affect the environments that we live in.
The Lava Forest is suitable for kids from 6 years and up.
